SP Xtra: Editor's Blog

Hi, my name's Sammy and I'm the Editor of Simply Prizes magazine. Every week I'll be bringing you an update or two about any interesting competitions I find or any comping news. Plus I'll bring you any competitions or offers I find.

Are you enjoying the new and improved Simply Prizes?

So by now I’m sure most of you have got to grips with your new and improved Simply Prizes. I’ve been getting lots of lovely feedback via our Facebook page and it’s great to hear that all my SP’ers are enjoying the service! If there are any issues you are experiencing at all or have noticed any glitches with the website please let our customer service department know via info@oxonpress.co.uk and they will be more than happy to assist with the problem.

I’ve had a pretty good March so far with competition wins – these goodies arrived yesterday just in time for my special day!

And then this week I topped it up with some tickets to a local show in the Easter hols! Which is one day out planned and best of all it isn’t going to cost me a thing! So I’m now on the look-out for more free ways to amuse the kiddies! And I will be keeping an eye on my local paper and social media feeds of local companies to see if they are running any Easter themed comps. Local comps are a good source of low entry promotions as most are restricted to ‘your’ area so can be a great way of bagging a win!

Now I’m treating myself to a day off of comping tomorrow as it’s my birthday! So I’m off to the big smoke to meet the hubby and have a wander round Borough Market, one of my favourite haunts! I do however plan on snapping away as I find decent photos are a great thing to keep for when an appropriate photo comp comes up! I’ll be back in the evening though ready to chat via our Facebook page if anyone is around and ready to join me with a glass of red!

I hope all you SP’ers have a great Freebie Friday tomorrow – it’s one of the busiest comping days of the week and you’ll have a new batch of social media competitions to enter so keep your eyes peeled for your Friday update.

Other than that have a fab weekend!

Tuesday Talk! (And a little prize draw!)

There are always hundreds of EOM (end of month) comps doing the rounds and I just wondered how many of you managed to be organised enough to do them? Every month I tell myself to start entering them in the middle of the month by doing a few each day so I’m not so inundated on the last day, but I never do! So tonight I’ll be settling down as early as I can and ploughing my way through as many as I can. (Vowing to myself that things will be different next month, ha ha!)

I tend to be quite organised with my comping routine but the EOM stuff just beats me every time. My main comping time is in the evenings but I do try and sneak some dailies in through the day if I can. I concentrate on staying a few days ahead of the closing dates so I can have an evening off every weekend and I keep a spreadsheet of wins to track prizes.

So, how do you organise your comping? I’d love to hear from you and I’d like to post the best tips on our Facebook page to help other compers get their game into gear! So you can either post on our wall  or email me at: info@oxonpress.co.uk. And at the end of the month I’ll choose my favourite to win a little something.
