SP Xtra: Editor's Blog

Hi, my name's Sammy and I'm the Editor of Simply Prizes magazine. Every week I'll be bringing you an update or two about any interesting competitions I find or any comping news. Plus I'll bring you any competitions or offers I find.

My February update!

February really didn’t come up to much for me! I won a total of three prizes and all of those were from the Walkers Shop to Win comp consisting of two footballs and a sharing bowl! However; I did manage to get a Cadbury’s Easter Egg and a weekend box to try out for free from a couple of review panels I’m on, so although they aren’t really wins I’m still counting them in my round-up for the month.

Considering top of my wish-list for February was a short hotel break I didn’t even come anywhere close with my football themed wins! So onto March, fresh month, fresh start! And this month sees me celebrating not only Mother’s Day but also my special birthday….40!! Eeek!! And I’m hoping that I’ll be able to have a lot more comping time too; last month didn’t quite pan out as I had hoped. There was February half term, my Mum was in hospital and my hot water tank flooded my kitchen so comping was way down on my list of priorities! But March is going to be a good one – I’m keeping positive and hoping to win a short hotel break this month instead so that goes straight to the top of my wish-list.

Now as we head into the new month don’t forget to get in touch with us and let us know about your February wins. You can use the contact us page  here, use our Facebook page or drop us an email at info@oxenpress.co.uk. Any we feature on our letter’s page will bag a tenner.

Tuesday Talk! (And a little prize draw!)

There are always hundreds of EOM (end of month) comps doing the rounds and I just wondered how many of you managed to be organised enough to do them? Every month I tell myself to start entering them in the middle of the month by doing a few each day so I’m not so inundated on the last day, but I never do! So tonight I’ll be settling down as early as I can and ploughing my way through as many as I can. (Vowing to myself that things will be different next month, ha ha!)

I tend to be quite organised with my comping routine but the EOM stuff just beats me every time. My main comping time is in the evenings but I do try and sneak some dailies in through the day if I can. I concentrate on staying a few days ahead of the closing dates so I can have an evening off every weekend and I keep a spreadsheet of wins to track prizes.

So, how do you organise your comping? I’d love to hear from you and I’d like to post the best tips on our Facebook page to help other compers get their game into gear! So you can either post on our wall  or email me at: info@oxonpress.co.uk. And at the end of the month I’ll choose my favourite to win a little something.
