If you know a child between the ages of 5 and 11 who happen to have a brilliant idea for a bedtime story then read on!
Book People currently have a bedtime story competition open to children aged 5-11 where they need to write a picture book of 200-800 words featuring animals.
This is a judged competition and they are looking for entirely original stories which are perfect for bedtime.
The lucky winner will have the chance to work with an editor from Little Tiger Press who will help their story come to life. Illustrator Ada Grey will work on the book too and it will then be published in 2017. Alongside this fantastic opportunity the winner will also bag themselves £250 worth of book vouchers and £250 vouchers for their school too. On top of this there will be two runner-up prizes of £100 book vouchers for the child and £100 book vouchers for their school, plus a signed print from Ada Grey. Then two specially commended prizes of £50 book vouchers for the child and £50 book vouchers for their school.
Entries need to be submitted here by the parent or guardian and the deadline is 23.59 on 24th October. Five shortlisted entrants will then be contacted and invited to attend an awards ceremony on 3rd November 2016 with one parent/guardian, where the winner will be announced.
