It’s not always competitions that can lead to wins, I’ve recently had a game-show audition with a fellow comper friend and we’ve been shortlisted! It’s a great opportunity to win some cash so I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that we get on! I’ll keep you updated with how we are getting on.

The competitions this week have a musical feel to them with prizes ranging from concerts to award ceremonies.

Echo Arena has a pair of tickets to see Lawson up for grabs. Answer the following question and send it to competitions@accliverpool.com (LAWSON in the subject box) with your name, mobile and a contact telephone number; Which model appears in Lawson’s new video? Answer – Kelly Brook. Closing date 26 September.

Capital FM has a pair of tickets to the iTunes festival 2013. Register/log in and answer the following question; Which iconic London venue does the iTunes Festival take place? Answer – The Roundhouse (Camden). Closing date 27 September.

Classic FM has a priceless prize available; tickets to the Classic Brit Awards 2013 at The Royal Albert Hall with private box, dinner, a backstage tour, post show drinks reception and an overnight stay in a luxury hotel. Register/log in and answer the following question; At which venue is The Classic BRIT Awards 2013 taking place? Answer – Royal Albert Hall. Closing date 11am 27 September.

Chiltern Railways has a special offer of London to Birmingham for 50p return! You simply enter your details and it will take you to a booking page where you can select travel times. You will need access to a printer to print your ticket out. Tickets are available for travel to 17th October (with a few
exclusion dates) but there are only a limited number of tickets so book as soon as you can!

If you are looking for cheap train travel the key to this is to book in advance. Generally it’s best to start looking roughly 12 weeks in advance. Thetrainline has a ticket alert system so will email you the moment cheap advance tickets for a specific journey become available.

Megatrain sells loads of single £1 fares across England and Scotland with a 50p booking fee. They release tickets 45 days before, handy if you don’t want to book so far ahead. Obviously the more popular routes sell quickly but even once the £1 fares have gone they still have lots of cheap tickets. The Megabus logo will be at the top of the website, but you’re on the right page, Megatrain just use the same booking system. Just make sure you select travelling by train in the dropdown box and you won’t get bus fares up.

Have a great week.
