I’ve gone on a bit of a keep fit regime in preparation for my summer holiday and to just feel a bit better within myself. I was lucky enough to win an Aquadream Speedo swimming costume so I have decided to join my local sports centre. It’s worth enquiring at local places as often they have special offers at this time of the year – I’ve become a member of a ‘Shape up for Summer’ plan! This means that I can trial it to ensure I get my money’s worth before committing to something more long term. This week’s comps offer the chance to win some great sport and fitness prizes.

If, like me, you are thinking of getting fit, the NHS offer a couch to 5K plan. This is a fab way for absolute beginners to start running. It’s a schedule of 9 weeks with 3 runs per week, always having a day of rest in between. The best thing about this plan is that it really is for everyone! Suitable for complete novices through to people that have run before and want to get back into it. You just need to download the free podcast to get started!

Obviously gym membership isn’t in everyone’s price range, but, if you are thinking of joining one, a lot of places offer a try before you buy where you can get a free day pass to trial their facilities. Make sure you get a few prices from local places and negotiate! Consider off-peak membership too if you are flexible with your hours.

Alternatively, there are plenty of free ways to exercise. As well as the obvious suggestions like walking or cycling instead of taking the car or public transport, you can also follow workouts online for free. Try YouTube or The Fit Map

Don’t forget that there’s a big Euromillions draw coming up this Friday! They are giving away an extra £100 million, and if you fancy increasing your chances of winning, now is the perfect time to consider joining a syndicate! Click here to find out more

Have a great week!
