My little girl Abigail, who is four, seems to be as hooked on comps as me. She was lucky enough to win two fab prizes last week, a cookery bundle and a massive Reeves art set; both won through magazines. I think it’s great that my children are starting to show an interest in a hobby that can reap huge rewards. Do any of you encourage your children or smaller family members to enter competitions?
This week I have found some great comps for the little people in your life. National Geographic Kids have a Lego Movie bundle up for grabs. To enter you need to be aged 16 or under, submit your details and answer the following question; Can you unscramble these letters to reveal the name of a superhero who appears in the LEGO Movie? TANMAB. Answer – Batman. Closing date is 12th March.
Â
First News has a Wii U console plus a copy of The LEGO Movie videogame for one lucky winner, plus four copies of the game for the runners-up. To enter you need to be 18 or under, log in/register and answer the following question; What is the name of the main character in The LEGO Movie videogame? Answer – Emmet. Closing date is 13th March.
Â
And with Lego being all the rage at the moment, here’s one for the grown-ups to enter on behalf of the kiddies! Good to Know has four Lego bundles available to win; Lego Chima on DVD and two Lego Chima playsets worth over £60. To enter submit your details and answer the following question; The animals of CHIMA are fighting for control of which natural resource? Answer – Chi. Closing date is 23.59 on 16th March.

Check out Ovivo for a cracking deal on a mobile sim (via the Vodafone network); pay a one-off fee of £20 and in return get 250 minutes, 300 texts and 500MB data every month! Not only that but you also get a free Cineworld cinema ticket (redeem by 11th July) and a one-off £15 credit. The only catch with this brilliant offer is that when you access the web, adverts pop up every 5 minutes or so but after 5 seconds you can skip the advert and continue browsing. It doesn’t happen if you are using apps though.

If you fancy a day at the races, Ascot currently have free admission for Wednesday 30th April in their ‘Discover Ascot Race Day’ event. You can get up to four tickets for free for Grandstand admission and this includes car-parking too. It does state there is a £1 booking fee but this will only apply if you want the tickets sent to your address. If you print at home you won’t pay a thing. Up to four children aged 17 and under per adult also go free - just collect their tickets at the gates. If your children are in the higher age range bracket it is probably best to take some form of ID to prove their age.
Â
Puma Hotels currently have 40% off selected hotels based on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate; you even get a bottle of house wine with your three-course meal. You can stay as many nights as you like and up to two children can stay for free in a standard room (check the terms and conditions when booking). Offer is valid for stays until 30th June 2014, so could be perfect for a cheap Spring getaway.

Have a great week. Stay lucky and don’t forget to keep in touch!
