SP Xtra: Editor's Blog

Hi, my name's Sammy and I'm the Editor of Simply Prizes magazine. Every week I'll be bringing you an update or two about any interesting competitions I find or any comping news. Plus I'll bring you any competitions or offers I find.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out the way you plan...

Well my plan for this week's Simply Prizes Xtra didn't pan out as expected. With the English and Welsh football season starting this weekend, I was sure I would have loads of football related prizes to bring you. But no, other than the chance to win your favourite Premier League club's official home shirt and the Barclays Match Bundle and Premier League Trophy Experience that Simply Prizes readers already know about, there wasn’t one new football comp I could find (thank god, says Lizzie).

Maybe we'll have more luck with the Freebie Friday comps update but all is not lost. Shaun and Olly, on the sports betting team, offer you the chance to win £10 every week while the football season is on.

Just have a go at their Premier League Predictor game. It’s free and a bit of fun. See below for full details. And for the opening round of games the weekly cash prize is £25!

And for those of you who the idea of the football season returning just brings a groan, here's the chance to drown your sorrows with a...

Bottle of Viper Gin - closes 30th September 2020 - click here to enter

Question: What honour did Viper Gin scoop at the Taste of the West Awards?

Our advice: Gold

We took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out twice, and I really enjoyed it, although the last time was the Bank Holiday Monday when it ended and I think the restaurant was over stretched staff-wise, even with social distancing meaning it didn't look too full.

So, the chance to have the same food but delivered at home would be great...

£200 in Uber Eats Credits - closes 9th October 2020 - click here to enter

Now a little quiz, what does a Bite Away device do? Is it for your dog? Does it help with your teeth? The answer is obvious once you know it, but I couldn't work it out from the name, have a guess before clicking through...

Win a Bite Away - closes 4th October 2020 - click here to enter

Question: How many applications does each re-usable Bite Away provide?

Our advice: 300

Yesterday and today has been decent weather wise, I've read that parts of Scotland are in a mini-heat wave so maybe my children's prediction of a warm September will be right and one of these Bite Away devices useful.

I'll be back on Saturday with nothing football related, but a really interesting thing I noticed while searching for those football comps.

Stay safe and good luck!
