This week sees the hubby and I celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary; and luckily a competition win means we get to stay in a swanky London hotel. It also means that he can’t say I don’t ever treat him! I’m hoping that seeing as I’ve provided the hotel he’ll provide his wallet for some spending money!
For all of you with little ones at home this week due to half-term or family members providing the obligatory school holiday childcare, head on down to your local Asda store today. For one day only the kids can create their own Lego mini figure (in celebration of the new Lego movie) - and if you take a picture of them and tweet using the hashtag #asdalegominifigures you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a VIP Legoland experience. Not only that, but the children will be able to take home a free Asda exclusive Robo DJ Lego Mini Figure (subject to availability). Alongside all of this there are Lego goodies to be won in-store too! This is all going on today between 10am – 4pm and you can find a list of the Asda stores taking part here.
Another one for the kiddies; something to help with the boredom hopefully! BBC Radio 2 has got the Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show 500 words competition open again. They are looking for children aged 13 or under to submit a fantastic short story (no longer than 500 words). The comp is split into two categories; 9 and under and 10-13, with bronze, silver and gold prizes in each category. First prize (gold) is Chris Evans’ height in books, second prize (silver) is Alex Jones’ height in books and third prize (bronze) is your own height in books. Finished stories can be submitted here (link 4). Closing date is 7pm on 26th February.
And one for the parents after the hard work of half-term; a £500 Feel Unique Pampering Hamper from Never Under Dressed. To enter answer the following question and submit your details; When was Penhaligon's London first established? Answer – B) 1870. Closing date is midnight on 28th February.
Travelodge have released their £25 or less Spring Saver rooms, between now and Wednesday 30th April there are thousands of these rooms available. Over the Easter holidays the rooms are £29 or less. Offer excludes London hotels and the deal is spread across selected hotels and dates, so you may have to be slightly flexible. But even so, it’s a fantastic offer and their website states booking early is the best way to get a good deal.
This month’s Ideal Home Magazine (March edition) has a ticket to the Ideal Home Exhibition on page 131, valid for any one day of the opening weekend (14-16 March). On the door ticket prices are usually £18.50 or you can buy in advance at £14. But, with the magazine costing just £3.60 it’s a pretty good saving.
